In clean water systems, especially in food and beverage plants, color, taste and odors can impact the quality of the final product. These components can be effectively removed using the appropriate technology. Granular activated carbon (GAC) is a very effective adsorptive media for removing these undesirable components. Reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) are also used depending on the feed water quality. For color components, GAC, RO, NF can also be used as well as ion exchange and ultrafiltration.
