The Technology
Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) media is an adsorptive media that is highly effective at removing chlorine, odors, color components and a wide range of organics from water. The selection of carbon type (mesh size, anthracite, coconut shell, lignite, etc) will be made based upon the specific requirements of your application. GAC media will adsorb contaminants until its available adsorptive sites are depleted, at which time the carbon media should be replaced.
Our Product
Envirogen prefabricated Activated Carbon systems feature high surface area granular carbon for high-capacity adsorption in liquid applications. We offer customers the choice of tanks constructed of either Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) or Carbon Steel (CS) and our pre-fabricated systems handle flows up to 635 GPM. We will also custom engineer larger systems to meet your requirements.
Applications
Adsorption of chlorine, chloramines, organics, taste and odor for drinking water, waste streams, groundwater remediation, industrial process water, or for protection of RO membranes.
